Formed during the Coronavirus lockdown in May 2020, Pig and Bear Emporium was created to bring some bold, vibrant colour and joy to the walls of little peoples’ bedrooms, nurseries, playrooms and classrooms. One of us has a graphic design background and so we have always created art for our friends that kept having many babies, and we needed a way of celebrating the birth of their little ones, without breaking the bank! Whilst the lockdown (part 1...) was difficult for everyone, it did provide us with the time to launch a little online store. We started adding to the collection and were able to purchase a large format printer (called the Oinkerator - which took a lot of persuading for a very cautious person like Scott!) Thankfully, everything went better than we had ever hoped for and as we looked at what was out there, we found lots of children’s art shared similar basic themes with washed-out colours and duplicated designs. We wanted to do something a little bold and different, to share with the world! Something we get asked about a lot, is where the name came from and it's actually not the most interesting story but it is simple - it's our silly names that we have for each other!
