Formed in 2020, Dunsel's was born during the pandemic as a fundraising project for the Florida State University Sailing Club. We are scrappy founders who recognized that functional textiles being thrown away in excess. Sailboat sails, awnings, marine canvases, and vinyls all funneling into the landfills like clockwork. With microplastics at the forefront of our environmental crisis, we were driven to remove some of the harmful textile waste in any way we possibly could. Most durable, marine, textile waste is a polyester-based fabric that will ultimately break down into microplastics. Over time, these particles make their way into the ocean, and poison the environment that we love. A community formed around the idea of what is traditionally considered waste for one industry could be beneficial in another. You will not find a comparable product on the market with the durability and authenticity of our product due to the unique nature of how we source our materials. We have created a product that is is both functional and reduces some of the outflows of waste. All of our products are combinations of one-of-a-kind. upcycled fabrics never seen before, and never to be seen again.
