Fil₂R was developed by PhD candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Audra Huffmeyer. Audra owns a Brita filter, and in 2019 as she was completing her final works at UCLA, she knew there was a better product that would reduce filter waste by 95%. Designed for most PUR and Brita water pitchers, Fil₂R's proprietary and reusable case uses an activated carbon pod. Much like a water bottle, the Fil₂R case will last years and it easily recyclable. The activated carbon pod is made from 100% natural coconut shells that reduce lead, chlorine, and particulates from tap water.
