Hi, My name is Folake Ojo, owner and CEO of Lizkela. I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. I moved to the states at 17 to pursue my undergraduate studies at Penn State University where I obtained a degree in Biotechnology and later on, a Masters at LIU. Today, I'm currently in Tech and fashion, working as a software engineer by day and in parallel, developing my brand and creative side at Lizkela. The idea of Lizkela came to me one day after work. I was browsing through social media, when I encountered these photos of beautiful, bold, vibrant African prints. All I could think about was; ideas and possibilities, how the colors, textures, and hardware could be utilized to completely transform the outfit without losing its "Essence", and so, I was immediately inspired to create Lizkela. Lizkela personifies strong, confident, luxury, fearless, ready for anything and a statement maker. We launched our first collection in 2018, focusing on handbags. Our goal is to stand apart from other brands by thoughtfully designing small batched products that embody luxury. We want our customers to love and to feel proud to wear our exclusive designs and ultimately change the way people view African fashion.
