Tara Handicraft was founded in July 2017, after a trip to India inspired us to share beautifully handcrafted works of artisans from Vinay’s homeland. We formed a small family run business selling handcrafted products selected by Vinay’s family in India. We value the artisans creating these products and strive to support those involved with fair wages. Tara Handicraft supports charitable projects in Varanasi, India, including a children’s orphanage and Project Shakti, a project which teaches vocational skills and offers training loans to young women who wish to further their education. We currently have two product lines: pure copper drinking vessels and hand-stitched, block printed Kantha quilts. We now also offer decorative, Kantha quilt pillow covers.
