Our Journey to Natural Protection The Story Behind Butterfly & Bee Millie, our beloved dog, has always been the embodiment of energy and joy. She loved nothing more than running through tall grass, playing fetch, and exploring the outdoors across New England. But as much as we cherished those adventures, we began to notice a growing concern, ticks. Every walk in the woods became a potential risk. Ticks followed us home on clothing and skin, and eventually, what started as a worry became something much more serious. Millie became ill, and after a thorough diagnosis, we learned she had contracted three different tick-borne illnesses. It was a wake-up call we couldn’t ignore. We knew we had to do better, not only for Millie, but for ourselves. Our search for protection led us down an unexpected path. We wanted solutions that were effective yet safe, without relying on harsh chemicals or unnecessary toxins. When we couldn’t find products we truly trusted, we began researching and creating our own. That’s where Butterfly & Bee was born. What started as a mission to protect our dog naturally soon expanded into something larger. As we became more mindful of what we were putting on our skin and in our homes, we realized how many everyday products were filled with ingredients we didn’t recognize or feel comfortable using. One by one, we began replacing them, first with natural insect repellents, then laundry soap, followed by balms, wipes, creams, and home care essentials. Read their story
