Borealis Press launched QuoteUnquote cards more than thirty years ago. Their “sensibility” was a hit and was widely copied and Borealis has been a solid business. That happened despite Borealis not having a much of a business plan beyond simply making a living in Maine while doing as little harm as possible. We didn’t have the inclination or talent to strike it rich with the (notoriously unreliable) big chains and box stores. We assumed that we would reach our final customers through the local independent stores and you are at the top of our list. Times change, right? but we’ve always been in a bit of a time warp.
