South Chicago Packing is a 5th generation family-owned business with a rich heritage that began in the Chicago Stockyards over 120 years ago. Our mission is to maintain this 120 year-old tradition which is why our specialty fats are sourced from only the best. South Chicago Packing began as a meat packing operation, but gradually transitioned into high-end specialty fats, custom oil blends and food-grade specialty products.

The product is fantastic, we have only ordered a few times. Our last couple orders required some replacements. 1 replacement was for incorrect product shipped. 2nd replacement was for damaged product. I sent 2 messages to South Chicago via Faire and did not get a response.

Took longer than I expected to arrive and one jar arrived damaged. I had to pay shipping to get it replaced, which I feel was unfair. It's their responsibility to ensure the items are properly packaged to avoid damage during shipping and if damage occurs it's their responsibility to replace it at their expense for neglecting to properly package the item. That's just basic customer service and good business practices.
