Hi. My name is Liz Kemp. I'm originally from New York, currently living in Phillipsburg, NJ . I was on my own at the age of 17, so reusing things, repurposing, was a necessity. Then, I learned how to upcycle items. Repaint, restain, redo.... into something else. Taking the old and un-used and making it something again was exciting, fun and cost effective too. Crafting was also something I really enjoyed. I had a daycare for 9 years & worked with children for over 20. I was always coming up with neat ideas for re-using things. Candles have always been a staple in my home. As I got older, I learned the importance of good candles & what we are breathing in using non-soy waxes. Good soy candles were expensive, and between my daughter and I, it was getting costly. Habitat for Humanity and similar thrift stores have been places I have always frequented. So it hit me to make my own candles with items I could find in thrift stores. Its sad to see all these items sitting on shelves with no home. Now these items get a new life and we ALL get to have good soy candles at half the cost. I've also started filling personal items of meaning for people. This brings so much joy to see someone's Grandmothers wine glass come out of the closet & have a new beginning. We are also taking some of the awesome finds we come across and making stunning wall art & accent lighting. My hopes are to also save some of the landfills and improve the environment.
