How do we define home? I guess for as long as I can remember I have been asking myself this. I grew up in two different places - in St. Petersburg, Russia and in the mountains of Colorado. Because of this duality, I have always felt like I had two homes. Then I moved to New York, then Paris. So now four homes : ) With each place come the true connections and the special people, memories, stories, places, adventures and souvenirs. I now know that really we can connect so strongly and genuinely to more than one place. I wanted to create something that sparks this sense of home pride and happy nostalgia and just can wear our connection and love for a place, in this case a state for now. The other best part of creating this whole project so far has been the collaboration with my actual homies. From my family to my friends all across the world, they have all been the ones who have helped, encouraged and made this little project come to life! That's where the name came from. The more I thought about it, the more Homies just seemed so right. The ones from home, the ones that make you feel at home, the ones that remind you of home. Home is where the Heart is and Homies are everywhere. Love, Maria
