Hello and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Sara D'Amelio, I live in Silver Spring, MD and this is my story... In 1998, I began working at a luxury skincare boutique, I shined in sales and was gifted tons of high-end skincare products. Unfortunately, after years of using traditional skincare & broken promises, my face was constantly irritated and broken out. During that time, I was an intern at the National Geographic Society and, for fun, researched skincare formulations in their library. It was alarming to discover that traditional skincare is fragranced toxic soup in pretty packaging and sold with great stories. Upon learning the truth, I quit my job and used only natural products. Miraculously, I healed my own skin issues. I cleansed with pure rosemary soap, made masks with raw honey, herbs + teas and worked on creating an organic cream; I also enrolled in beauty school. After five years of training, I became a holistic esthetician and treated clients with difficult skin issues using my own homemade remedies. Clients were amazed at the results and I quickly built up a loyal following. To this day, I often have a waiting list of several months long! In 2018, the Lux Beauty line by Skincando was complete. Beautiful organic skincare crafted with my cruelty-free formulas and filled with the best quality biodynamic ingredients + nutritional supplements. Today, our gorgeous products continue to be made in small batches at Skincando HQ in the DC-area. Enjoy!
