We're woman owned & run by a small and mighty crew in beautiful Maine. Mad Gab’s was founded in 1991 by Gabrielle Melchionda, when she perfected a lip balm recipe while studying anthropology and flunking math. Gab's natural lip balm was neither greasy nor waxy and when she gifted it to friends and family, they convinced her to start selling it....and Mad Gab's was born! Originally, Gab sold lip balm out of her car to Natural Food stores. Shortly after she was discovered by QVC and that level of exposure landed Mad Gab's on the pages of Vogue, Elle and countless national publications. Mad Gab's products eventually found wide success in souvenir, gift, tourist and resort industries. For many years Gab mindfully raised her two sons while juggling a growing company, and today Mad Gab’s is available in a wide array of retailers across the U.S. All of our products are made simply and organically with ingredients like Organic olive oil, Organic beeswax, Organic Shea butter, Organic cocoa butter, Organic flavor, & Vitamin E. Each order includes a whole lotta love & good vibes–and gives back through our GabGirls mentor program, where Gab helps teens start companies of their own!
