Hello, I’m Carlo, founder and designer at LugCraft. A few years ago, I left software development to pursue my passions for design and cars. After much trial and error, LugCraft – my creative outlet that caters to car enthusiasts, discerning collectors, and people who love individuality and details – was born. My favorite medium, wood, yields the greatest detail, depth, and texture from my designs. What’s more, natural patterns and variations in woodgrain make each piece totally unique. Without exception, I’ve found that those who view these engravings in person are blown away by the complexity and detail evident in each piece. This level of detail is important to me both as an artist and as an avid car enthusiast. I believe that cars themselves are works of art and I admire the designers and engineers that create them. When it comes to designing some of the world’s greatest cars, I want my work to do their work justice. Hence, just as one could sit and admire the details of today’s hypercars or a 50-year-old classic, I want viewers of my engravings to study the details. With that goal in mind, I experimented with a variety of media and design techniques. Ultimately, I found that CNC lasers were the only tool fit for the job. A common misconception is that laser-engraved art is similar to printed photos or standard graphic design.
