Steel Heart, Ltd. has been in business since 1997 and is looking forward to many more years of continued growth and success. Our unique showroom and shop are in the historic barn at The House of Seven Gables, located north of the cozy town of Harvard, Illinois. Built in the early 1800s, the barn is said to have been part of the Underground Railroad. Even today one can see the cellar where those seeking freedom hid for safety. Steel Heart, Ltd. is owned and operated by Jacek and Gretchen Peczkowski. Once a dream as a small company specializing in seasonal garden stakes and buckets, the business is now a reality for the couple. From the beginning, each piece was carefully designed, handcrafted, and sold only to local businesses. With the high demand of their products, they were able to design, manufacture, and purchase a multitude of home and garden pieces. This opened a door to the world of wholesale, while still maintaining their retail relationships.
