Nandaka is a Japan-based letter stationery brand run by a duo. We design all our products and manufacture collaborating closely with craftspeople from local Japanese companies specializing in printing, letterpress, foil-stamping, etc. in which we place our confidence. Our products are characterized by each product possessing contrasting elements. For instance, we have a series of letter paper with straight ruled lines, yet the termination is irregular, and a set of cards with glittering foil-stamped illustrations where the paper itself has an earthy texture. Based on the concept that ‘writing a letter is embodying one’s existence as a person through words,’ we design the foundational letter stationery to be not one-dimensional but rather human-like.
