Dandy Jewelry is a timeless, yet edgy handcrafted ceramic jewelry line created with special, trade-secret techniques in Asheville, NC. The unique and one-of-a-kind glazing process achieves great depth, tricking your eye by mimicking gemstones or turquoise. Drawing inspiration from nature, designer Andrea Lithgow seeks to create a wearable piece of art for everyone crossing age and gender. Dandy Jewelry was born out of Andrea's love of nature and a childhood spent creating, crafting, and sewing. Years spent as a professional seamstress, intermittent painting and design classes, and handbag design only served as fodder for Andrea’s future. In 2006, clay crossed her path, and changed her life course. She was instantly hooked on the endless possibilities inherent in such a diverse medium, and was off and running. Andrea still delights in sitting down with paper and scissors—as if she were still that little girl—to bring to life the multitude of ideas that come from a seemingly endless and mysterious source.Read their story
