About Bryce Kho Draws

Hey everyone! My name is Bryce Kho and I’m an illustrator and concept artist based in Pasadena, California. People best know me for working on the turn-based RPG Sea of Stars as the lead concept artist for Sabotage Studios, but I’m also known for my maximalist fan-art illustrations. I create artwork that reflects my lived experience as an Asian American growing up in California who had a great love and passion for Japanese animation and culture. As such, my artwork features real world locations that I love -- local Los Angeles places like Little Tokyo, the Huntington Library, and the Natural History Museum as well as faraway cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Taiwan -- combined with characters from or inspired by Japanese animation. I believe this is an important form of representation for those with a similar Asian American background to see themselves portrayed in artwork that they can both identify with as well as feel proud of. Because many of my pieces portray scenes of fictional Japanese characters in wholesome, daily life scenarios, I believe my artwork showcases many of the best and most inspiring aspects of Japanese culture/animation and does so in a way that is both family-friendly and uplifting to the culture as a whole.Read their story
