About Marydean Draws

Hello! I (Mary) am an artist living and raising my three children in the lovely Shenandoah Valley. My art is all about unlocking everyday joy through beautiful art you can have in your home and share with loved ones. We are a female-owned small business that values quality crafted paper goods made locally here in Virginia. You can find me on my website at www.marydeandraws.com. Watercolor is my favorite medium, but I often layer over watercolor with chalk pastels and pencil to create depth and texture. I love the looseness of watercolor and its unpredictability, with all its drips and dots and bleeds. My happy place is somewhere between loose and structured, between free play and thoughtful compositions. My first retail location was at the Lady Jane Shop in Harrisonburg, VA, where customers have loved my hymn prints and postcards, often returning for gifts that have a special connection to a friend or family member.
