Nettle Studios started the way all great ideas do—with a couple of artisan pizzas, some hot honey, and a late-night conversation among friends. We wanted to make clothes that felt as cool and unique as the people wearing them—pieces that didn’t compromise on ethics, sustainability, or a strong sense of personal style. Over the years, Nettle has grown from a tiny in-house operation into a small but mighty team of creatives and professionals, all working together to bring our vision to life. We’ve learned, experimented, and refined our craft along the way, embracing change while staying true to our original mission. Today, Alex is the sole owner of Nettle Studios, leading a team dedicated to making slow fashion more accessible and exciting. We’ve expanded beyond our original linen staples into denim, twill, cotton, lamé, and beyond—continuously searching for new textures and fabrics that inspire fresh designs. Our process has also evolved: while we started by cutting and sewing everything in-house, we now collaborate sustainably with local dye houses, pattern makers, fit models, and cut-and-sew facilities—all while still maintaining the heart and hands-on approach that built Nettle in the first place.
