We're Shane and Mandy Smith. The makers behind Smith’s Leather Balm. I was cleaning my boots one day with a petroleum based leather conditioner. “STOP!" she said. She read the label out loud "potentially harmful or fatal if ingested!” “I can make something that works just as well- that's safer in our home and on our skin” she said. So, she did. She melted 3 all natural ingredients on the stove top and I tried it on my boots. It's just as effective as the greasy oil based leather conditioners you can find at the store- but it's safe on skin and better for the planet. We make every batch of Smith's leather balm by hand at our home in rural Maine.
