Unique small-batch and non-toxic home + beauty products from the heart of L'Acadiane. Hi, I'm Maria, Rôdais founder! I started making skincare about a decade ago (under the name Jules and Esther), because my skin was so sensitive to everything. I was determined to create items that were cleaner, safer, and felt good to use. In the past few years, I've extended my line into body care and home items made with clean ingredients, too. It's of the utmost importance to me to offer items that not only look good on the shelf, but also products that people are confident to put on their skin or in their home. Born and raised in south Louisiana in a uniquely Cajun French region of the country called Acadiana, many things in my line are inspired by the incredibly rich heritage of the area and the experiences that go with it. And Rôdais comes from the first or second-person singular imperfect indicative of the word rôder, which in Cajun French can mean wandering, prowling, or, most often, roaming the roads. A lot of what I create comes from places I’ve been, things I’ve read, and a “wandering” in every sense of the word whether physically or mentally, so I felt it was the perfect moniker.
