About Carmel Ceramica

The belief that our dogs and cats are family members too was the motivation that started Carmel Ceramica. Elece Leverone, the founder of Carmel Ceramica, wanted to follow her passion for designing in ceramics to find a one-of-a-kind look for pet treat jars with matching bowls. The concept was to create items that are functional, enhance home décor and make wonderful gifts for friends and family. That vision led to our first collection that is still in the product line today. Elece’s business background is founder and owner of an information technology company based in Southern California. After moving to Carmel she became enamored with the artistic side of life and began studying ceramics at a local college. Elece enjoyed this so much she built a ceramics studio in her barn and began creating prototypes. As the ideas snowballed the inspiration grew to start Carmel Ceramica. Carmel Ceramica today is focused on much more. Our beautiful collections of serving pieces, dinnerware and home décor are carefully designed and produced with loving care. The durable stoneware is made in Portugal with a variety of glazes from the simple and timeless to the vibrant and colorful. Based in Carmel, CA, we are inspired by the culture, lifestyle and natural beauty of the central California coast. Read their story
