I make and sell soap products, hand crafted from natural oils, butters, goat’s milk and honey with at least 5% of unsaponified oils and butters, using cold saponification process, which preserves their qualities and ensures there is no excess lye that could irritate sensitive skin. My soap making journey started in 2005 after my son was born. He had very sensitive skin so I was looking for a soap which wouldn’t irritate it. After extensive research, I discovered that a gentler soap could be handcrafted from oils, butters and lye and I found some people who made it. For some time, I was buying soap on eBay but the idea of making soap myself and tuning it towards desirable properties was growing. My first attempt at making a liquid soap was not successful at all. It burned the skin which indicated an excess of lye. After more research I found out that soap making is a precise science which requires appropriate tools, an accurate balance and that beginners shouldn’t start making liquid soap without making solid soap first. It took me a few years before I made my first solid soap from scratch. It was a success! In 2017 I formulated the final recipes for my range of soaps, which I am really proud of, being gently cleansing and mild on skin. In 2018, after much experimentation to find the perfect blend of ingredients and completing safety assessments for all our soap products, I set up a small business near Wavre in Belgium to begin the fabrication of my initial range of soaps.
