About BLACK VELVET CANDLES
Black Velvet Candles started as a hobby in the fall of 2017 while I was in nursing school. Candle making became my creative escape and gave me something positive to focus on during a stressful time. I spent many hours learning everything I could about the craft, testing different waxes, wicks, fragrances, and techniques. In the spring of 2018, after many trial-and-error attempts, I finally made my first candle. I'll never forget how amazing it smelled as it filled the room. After receiving incredible feedback from friends, family, and coworkers, I decided to turn my passion into a business. In the spring of 2021, Black Velvet Candles was born. The name Black Velvet came from a little black velvet bag that I always carried with me during clinicals. It reminds me of my determination, perseverance, and passion to succeed. Today, with more than seven years of candle-making experience, we're proud to create luxury soy candles that are hand-poured in Texas. Every candle is made in small batches using high-quality fragrance and essential oils to deliver a clean burn and a scent that fills your space. We use a blend of fragrances to create a unique experience after each burn. From start to finish, we put care into every candle we make because we believe the little details make all the difference.
