About Bel Koz Haiti

Hi! I’m Amy, founder + owner of Bèl Kòz, which means 'beautiful cause' in Haitian Creole. Bèl Kòz Haiti is a collaboration between artisans in Haiti and myself. At Bèl Kòz Haiti, our mission is providing dignified sustainable jobs in Haiti for our artisan family! And of course, provide beautiful, quality products for you! Our jewelry is made out of clay that is dug by hand from natural deposits in the central plateau region in Haiti. The raw clay is then broken into a fine powder and the impurities are sifted out. The powder is mixed with water and placed in the sun to remove excess moisture. Our skilled artisans then prepare and individually hand roll each of our clay beads, paint them with glaze and kiln fire them into permanent ceramic!
