About Justine Gilbuena
Hi, I’m Justine! (She/Her) I’m a Filipina illustrator born and raised in Queens, NY. From my home studio, I like to draw characters in cozy or silly settings that celebrate community and curiosity. I don’t think there’s ever a day when I’m not inspired and if it’s not in books or films, I find inspiration in loved ones, my cat, kind strangers and their pets, wildflowers, seasons (especially autumn), handmade trinkets, and old objects along with the stories they all carry. I’ve been slowly working on my stationery shop since 2016 and started my art mail club in the winter of 2021. Having the shop and club has helped me with my drawing process and I’m super grateful to patrons and their support. Inclusivity and diversity are both important values for me and my work. I hope that you always feel welcome and safe in my tiny corner of the internet. 💛
