About The Farming Artist

The Farming Artist is the creative alter ego of me! - Mackenzie Cissell - a farmer’s wife & mom of 5 in the Heart of Virginia whose entrepreneurial journey was reinvented during a 15 month from-the-ground-up farmhouse renovation! If cramming our lives into a 300 sq ft RV during reno wasn’t enough of a challenge, I decided to take it one step further and build a business from the ground up too! I figured if we all made it out of that RV without doing each other in, I wanted something grand to show for it (a finished home wasn’t enough, after all!). As luck - and a little social media strategy - would have it, I soon learned that I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed my art - yay! In order to get my designs into as many hands (and onto as many cups, cars, products, favors, and packages!) as possible, I chose to turn them into stickers - an accessible medium, as it turns out, for people of all ages. Today, while my husband splits his time between our 74 acres of pasture and his (also built from-the-ground-up) wood shop, I spend mine in the studio of that farmhouse (totally done and worth the wait!) designing, printing and packaging to my heart’s content!
