Skincare has always been important to me, but for a long time, it felt like an endless journey of trial and error with brands that didn’t quite fit. Growing up, I was guided by a family friend dermatologist, Dr. Eva, to regularly use a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. However, many of the products and regimens I followed were designed for women, as there weren’t many alternatives for men at the time. Over the years, my routine evolved to include more advanced products like eye cream and occasional face masks and scrubs. Even with a good understanding of what my skin needed, I struggled to find a brand geared towards men that used the right ingredients and routines for my specific needs. In addition, I was frustrated by the lack of ingredient transparency and the poor ethical practices of many skincare brands.
