In 2017, Florian, a globetrotter from Krefeld, is spending a few months in Cambodia for a diving instructor course. During this time, he and his partner at the time dive deep into the local community and experiences, such as organized swimming lessons for local children, ensure that Florian and his partner want to help people. You had already seen decorated coconut shells in many markets. The sustainability and unique character of the bowls, together with the opportunity to share your experiences and support local people, quickly leads to the idea of founding a sustainable shop. The idea of Makapli was born. So put 100 trays in your backpacks and bring them to Germany. The coconut shells are so well received by friends and acquaintances that all the shells are sold out after just a few days. And so it is not long considered and Makapli founded. In the meantime, the range has been expanded more and more with sustainable products such as silk lanterns and candles.
