Good Threads was founded to employ the parents of the children at the Joan Rose Foundation. Our founder, David Palmer, started a non profit to help imipoverished children in the Dominican Republic in 2010. He quickly realized that in order to help these children break the cycle of poverty that their families were stuck in he had to help stabilize their households. Good Threads was founded to employ these, parents, mostly single mothers. We give our stitchers the training and materials so that they can work from home while they take care of their children and manage their household. We pay them strong wages, as much as local nurses and teachers, and help with their children's education and development through the Joan Rose Foundation. We are now based in Jacmel, Haiti and give 3% of our revenue to the Joan Rose Foundation as a donation. We have gone through the rigorous review done by B Corp in order to become a Benefit Corporation and assure our clients that our marketing is accurate and honest.
