For five generations, the Alemany family has been crafting artisanal nougat and selecting honey from the best beekeepers. The history of Turrones y Miel Alemany began at the end of the 19th century, when Mrs. Mundeta made a candy with honey and local nuts. Since Montsec is a rough terrain and difficult for cultivation, this activity was a good alternative for them. The distinctive feature of Alemany nougat is due to a 19th-century recipe that gives the paste a characteristic white color. Slow cooking, locally sourced nuts, and a very select rosemary honey are part of a secret that gives the nougat a particular flavor. Alemany has specialized in monofloral honeys, collected from beekeepers across the country. Innovation at Alemany comes from the concept of honey with added value, in its line of gourmet honey.
