Genmaicha is a Japanese green tea preparation that contains roasted and partially puffed rice grains. Genmai means brown rice and cha stands for tea. Genmaicha can therefore be translated as “rice tea.” Bancha green tea was used in our Genmaicha. Preparation: Put eight grams of genmaicha in a jug, boil a liter of water until bubbly, allow to cool for three minutes in a closed kettle and let the infusion steep covered for two minutes. You get a delicious, malty, mild tea in golden green color. Always store in a cool, dry, airtight and light-proof place.
