How It All Began Waschies® was founded in 2017 by Carolin Schuberth, a visionary German entrepreneur and mother of two daughters. Concerned about the skin irritations caused by disposable baby wipes during the daily cleaning of her daughters, Carolin was determined to find a gentler and more environmentally friendly alternative for skin cleansing. When her daughters were diagnosed with dermatitis and the dermatologist recommended cleaning with water only, it became a true mission: to develop a gentle, sustainable way of facial and body cleansing suitable for all skin types – especially for the most sensitive skin. Our Story Inspired by the challenges of motherhood and her passion for sustainability, Carolin drew on her family's decades-long textile tradition by delving deep into the science of fibers. She discovered that many fibers become rough after washing and can trigger allergic reactions or skin sensitivities. Thus, she began collaborating with a small weaving mill in a neighboring village not far from her hometown of Kulmbach in Bavaria. Here, the vision was born to develop a fiber mix that would fundamentally change the way we cleanse ourselves.Read their story
