Design: This ring is composed of a medallion carefully hand-painted. The inspiration for the design and the technique used both come from medieval illumination. Symbolism: These floral patterns called Diapré have origins dating back to the Middle Ages. They are notably found in arabesques in the background of painted miniatures in 15th-century manuscripts. The color bases are made with natural pigments (here blue ash) prepared with a precise recipe, and the golden filigree is meticulously applied with what is called "shell gold": 24-carat gold mixed with gum arabic, traditionally prepared in shells. Once dried, the whole is reactivated with water and applied with a brush. A meticulous work for a unique, elegant result with historical origins.
