Description
This piece was inspired by Janet Collins, an African American ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She was a pioneer of Black ballet dancing and one of the few classically trained Black dancers in her time. Interpreted from a surviving photo of Janet, this is a cut paper illustration of her at the barre, gracefully at practice. DETAILS: Printed on heavy cotton paper with an archival, fine art, giclee printer. This print is based on an original made of hand-cut, hand-made japanese washi paper. Each piece is signed on the back. To reduce waste, each print is made to order. Note: Colours may vary slightly from what is seen on your screen
