Description
Size: 7 x 5 inches each Process: Archival inkjet print on matte photo paper Display: Print comes in a clear bag wrapping with mat board on the back, it's very easy to frame. A little bit more about this process: Alison Art Cyanotypes offers botanical cyanotype prints for wall art and for home décor items such as pillows, lampshades, and textile wall hangings. A cyanotype is a camera-less photographic print. Sir John Herschel invented the process in 1842. To make a cyanotype, I paint the cyanotype chemistry onto a surface, usually watercolor paper or cloth. After it dries in a darkroom, I expose the surface to sunlight. Whatever is on the treated surface, plants or a negative, blocks the light and creates a silhouette of the plant (a photogram) or a positive print. Because of the iron in the chemistry, the prints result in an unmistakable blue color. I scan or photograph the original print to make reproductions, which are affordable options to enjoy original art.
