Bastien Contraire revisits the animal picture book: here the protagonists come to life, leap off the pages, and are depicted in their excesses. The snail is too slow, the elephant too big, the crocodile too frightening, the rooster too noisy... Only the cat is perfect, curled up in a deep sleep, and the little one is invited to shake the book to wake it up! The surprising and playful scenes are supported by the naturalistic and sensitive drawings of Caroline Cruzinha.
