Scalloped wavy edge, rectangular stand with rounded corners, sage green floral frieze precisely printed. This sauceboat with its original stand is a bourgeois late 19th-century table service piece, complete and perfectly identified. The Wilbur pattern, made up of garlands of chrysanthemums and scrolls on a white background, is accented by a beaded border. The sage green, both discreet and refined, is characteristic of high-quality productions of the era, when northern manufactories vied in elegance with the great Parisian houses. The underside bears the green mark of the Manufacture du Moulin des Loups in Hamage, in the North, with the mention of the Wilbur pattern. This manufactory, founded in the 19th century, is known for the quality of its opaque earthenware and the fineness of its transfer prints. The sauceboat has a chip on the scalloped rim, noted in the price. The stand is intact. Stand length approximately 23 cm, sauceboat height approximately 9 cm. A collector’s piece for the enthusiast of antique tableware from northern France, in a timeless pattern that naturally complements a characterful table.
