About this product
The Bluenose was a famous Canadian fishing schooner built in 1921 that went on to win the International Fishermen's Trophy 17 consecutive times, cementing its status as a legend. In 1963, a replica called the Bluenose II was built in Lunenburg using the original plans, and it continues to serve as a "sailing ambassador" for Nova Scotia, offering tours and promoting tourism. Lunenburg itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site, described as "the best surviving example of a planned British colonial settlement in North America." The town has a rich history in the fishing industry, with a fleet of over 190 salt banking schooners and thousands of fishermen operating out of the port during its heyday in the late 1800s.
