Neem Oil is a vegetable oil obtained by cold pressing the seeds of Azadirachta Indica, belonging to the Meliaceae family. In India it is known by the name Arishta, which means “the tree capable of curing all diseases”; the Arabs call it Shajar-e-Mubarak which means “blessed tree”. Neem oil is composed of various substances, including triterpenes and fatty acids, in particular oleic acid, and stearic acid, which make it similar to both olive oil and cocoa butter. This means that Neem oil has interesting eudermal properties: it integrates very well with the skin's hydrolipidic film and exhibits moisturizing and emollient properties.
