It is natural & 100% biodegradable, made from non-toxic and non-allergenic Aspen wood fibers. Premium grade wood excelsior is made in the USA. Not recommended for supporting delicate products like chocolates or soft cheeses. A 1/4 bale is approximately 16 lbs.
