These Ethiopian natural grade 1 coffee beans come from the Suke Quto farm (Guji, 1800 — 2200m) from Tesfaye Bekele. This farmer grew up among coffee, went to study and worked as a conservationist for the government in the region where he came from. After big forest fires, Tesfaye saw in coffee a way to help the region back on top. He handed out coffee plants but he didn't get people along. That's why he started as a coffee farmer himself. Meanwhile, 171 neighboring “coffee farmers” are supplying the coffee berries to his farm. He also has 200ha himself where he grows his own coffee. He uses the organic residual streams again to optimally feed the soil on his farm. We roast this organic coffee in such a way that you can make it both as an espresso and as a filter.
