This metal sign features the artwork of Walter Haskell Hinton, showing three generations of farmers: a grandfather and child watching the child's father plow a field on a John Deere tractor. Hinton created several advertisements for John Deere, and one of his paintings featuring a leaping deer was used as the inspiration for the Deere logo in the middle part of the twentieth century.
