"Sugar Shack" Holiday Card Vanier, one of Ottawa’s oldest suburbs, is home to the Vanier Sugar Shack, a beloved community landmark nestled in the woods of the Vanier Museopark. Established in 1939, it’s the only urban sugar shack in Canada, where generations have enjoyed maple toffee, pancake breakfasts, and learning about sugaring traditions. After a 2020 fire destroyed the original building, the community rebuilt it, slightly larger and more accessible, yet still full of charm. This image shows the shack as it appeared before the fire, with its simple design and handmade sign. This card features a drawing done by Kat Jetté in 2025. Card Size: 4"x 6" Card is blank inside.
