The river's history is long and complex, with many significant events but from its current starting point it travels 51 miles through the valley making a turn South at the 134 and 5 interchange and eventualy letting out in Long Beach. This art celebrates the Santa Monica Mountains and the Santa Susana Mountains where the creeks that make up the LA River come from.
