Decorative plates with authentic ammonites and orthoceras These plates feature authentic real fossils of prehistoric marine organisms embedded in their surface. They are made from black sedimentary rock, known as fossil marble, with visible fragments of elongated orthoceras and spiral ammonites. In each piece, one of the ammonite fossils has been highlighted by the carving surrounding it. This intervention aims to emphasize the fossil, and although none of the pieces retain the complete organism, the carving allows the original shape of the animal to be inferred.
