The first piece I painted in this trio was Knees to the Earth. With its rich, bold tones melting into one another (to me representing red rock, grass, clouds, meadow, water), it became a favorite in the shop and inspired a second piece: Grounded. As we started to field requests for a third and final piece, I started to see a larger expanse of water between the two. Perhaps a marsh, a lake, a river. I hope when you see River Home, you feel what I did while I was painting it. Like it's a place you've been and know, even though you can't remember when or where, and it feels good and safe and lovely to you.
