Remember the precious Welsh gold, a luxury and highly valued metal found in two distinct areas of Wales? It’s said that Celtic jewellery worn by Welsh Princes was crafted using this rare metal. Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II was even presented with a kilogram ingot of Welsh gold from the Gwynfynydd mine in Snowdonia on her 60th birthday. The mining process has since stopped, and the supply of Welsh gold has diminished, leading to its scarcity. But it’s still used by the famous jewellery brand “Clogau,” who uses small pieces of the metal in their products. The history and rarity of Welsh gold inspired us to create a fragrance that embodies its lustre and the dynamite used in the mines. The north Wales band stretching from Barmouth to Snowdonia was once home to the prestigious Clogau Gold Mine near Bontddu and the Gwynfynydd Gold Mine near Ganllwyd.
