Wholesale Welcome Strawberry "Stargel"

After their recent EP and split with Quinine, Bay Area heavyweights Welcome Strawberry return with the 12” single Stargel. Released by à La Carte Records, the track blends shoegaze, psychedelia, trip-hop, and electronica, rejecting modern shoegaze in favor of the experimental sounds that followed the 90s explosion. The project, led by Cyrus VandenBerghe (Still Ruins, Pink Breath of Heaven), draws inspiration from Seefeel, 90s Madonna, and Jagwar Ma, creating a five-minute opus. The 12” features three remixes: Tricky FM’s blissed-out IDM, forever ☆’s UK garage version, and Kai Tak’s trip-hop take. Mixed and mastered by Angel Marcloid at Angel Hair Audio, the release is visually embodied by Bruno Lauzon Tanzi’s Y2K rave-inspired cover. Stargel is an experimental, genre-defying track for the underground.
