They feature extra-large 1' grooves carved along the perimeter of the boards, designed to prevent spills by catching the juice of fresh-grilled meat or small scraps you generate while carving. And they're also suitable for slicing fruit, dicing vegetables or whatever task needed. Each of the Hiawatha Pro Series boards are not about to slip and slide around. They're constructed in edge-grain style, which produces a sturdy board and a clean, expansive look, since all seams run in parallel. The smooth but solid cutting surface they provide is excellent for just about any food prep task, including rolling and kneading dough when baking cookies, pies or bread. Boards are finished with a special blend of Bees wax, Carnauba wax, Walnut oil & Vitamin E. Our Special Blend keeps boards protected longer by locking in moisture as well.
